Fate and Friends strike when you least expect them..

I could barely open my eyes, but surely could feel the voluminous thing on my shoulders called ‘HEAD’. Few things still had not changed since last night. Primarily, the 5.1 channel speaker system was still booming with the tracks of House and Trance. The music urged me to get into groove and I started to lose myself all over again. But something reverberated inside my head-“haven’t I already lost myself!!!!” Withstanding a ruthless headache, I managed to see 7 bottles of Tuborg strong, of which 3 still had the vigor to stand tall, while the rest had crumpled down to the floor. Also, lazing around on the table were, three buckets of KFC and four packets of gold flake. The first thing that came to my mind was that, last night I was attacked by the likes of Ajmal Kasab and his friends. As soon as I looked on to the other sections of the room, I was amazed at the peace with which the things were. I was quite content with the room’s condition and realized Ajmal was perhaps somewhere in a high security jail. That relieved me a bit from the tormenting situation. Then, I tried hard to focus on what had happened in my room in a matter of few hours!!

Was this a real life HANGOVER happening with me?? If yes, then it would be the story for the third part!! I could not remember a damn thing!! Or was it some real life MEMENTO?? Instead of trying out to figure out what had happened, why on earth was I comparing my status quo with movies!!! I moved into the kitchen and found the casserole open and pans in the sink. That was the beginning. I apprehended that, those were the outcomes of the dinner I had cooked the previous night. I had a glass of cold water and sat on my recliner. I slowly started getting it all. It was a Sunday morning. And, I had invited two of my friends for dinner, on the previous day’s evening. Gradually, the list of events flashed in front of my eyes. I could remember everything; the time they came, the movie we saw, the bitching we did, the dinner we had, hell I even remembered having seen them off and going to sleep. And, that was all. But, then again, I asked myself “where did these KFC buckets come from??  What about the Tuborg and the cigarettes?? Did I actually and finally, get drunk?? Or was I drugged, that I don’t remember what happened then after??”…

Too many questions sprouted out and their sole target was my god-forsaken head.  To bail out of this problem, I decided to call my friends with whom I spent the Saturday evening. I called up Kishore, who only cared to send me back a user busy note on my phone. I ringed up Prateek (Thank god he picked up), and the next thing I heard was, a burst of laughter.  I could not understand why he was laughing like a lunatic… It took him a couple of minutes to calm down and tell me the story. Mr. Kishore and Mr.Prateek wanted to booze off the Saturday night, which I would not allow at my home. So, very cleverly, they planted two tablets of Alprax in the food, while I was busy serving the dinner. And that was enough. Being my best friends, they knew where the key of my room was and where my credit card lied. They went up to nearest KFC and bought chicken, and beers from a beer parlor; courtesy my credit card. Thankfully, the kiosk where they got the cigarettes from, did not accept cards. After loading themselves up, these two gentlemen came back home and had a night out while I was sleeping peacefully. And JUST FOR FUN, they gave me two more pills of Alprax and turned on AC to the lowest possible temperature, so that I catch a cold and have a heavy head; P.S. the dizziness was caused by the pills. When they left, two things were left untouched; mess all over the room and me all over the mess!!When I put down the phone I realized Prateek and Kishore were the real Ajmal Kasab’s for me!!!!

I was having a flurry of emotions. I was obviously angry regarding what had happened, but somewhere deep down I was smiling too. Because of the prank, they succeeded in playing on me. With a heavy head, I started clearing up all the destruction they had left behind and I silently planned on getting back at them….
